What is Rock the Block?

Rock the Block is a Coastside Block Party celebrating life on the Coastside.  It is an opportunity to visit with neighbors, listen to some great bands, sample some Coastal cuisine, learn about some local non-profits and businesses, see what our Main Street stores have to offer, and have some good ole’ fashion fun!

How do I volunteer?

Call the Chamber at 650-726-8380.  We can always use the help and it’s a great way to meet other people in your community and local business owners.

What does it benefit?

Rock the Block benefits the Chamber of Commerce & Visitors’ Bureau.  The Chamber is a non-profit organization and through our various events we can keep our Membership dues at an affordable rate.  The chamber and visitor bureau spends a lot of money advertising our member’s businesses, supporting them through legislative advocacy, promoting and advertising the Coastside, providing networking opportunities, mediating with local and county, helping to develop marketing plans for our businesses, supporting our community non-profits, and working to maintain a strong local economy.

We also donate a portion of the proceeds to a local non-profit in return for their help with clean up.

How do I get a booth?

Download an application here or call the Chamber at 650-726-8380.  The deadline for food booths is April 16th and May 8th for non-food vendors.

How do I get my band to be considered for performing?

Applications will be accepted Jan 1st 2009 through March 1st 2009 .  Applications will be available online or at the Chamber office starting in late 2008

This is decided upon by the Rock the Block committee in March, and will notify bands no later than April 1 2009.

HOW TO BECOME A SPONSOR?

We are now accepting applications for 2009 Rock the Block sponsors. Sponsorship levels  start as low as $500 and grow from there.

Sponsoring an event such as Rock the Block is a great marketing tool.  Especially if your business audience is Coastsiders then this is an opportunity to be in front of 4000 at once.  Plus you get additional exposure from press releases in several newspapers, your logo on posters, ads, and flyers. Mentions in the Chamber Newsletters and Broadcast e-mails, and now on a designated Rock the Block website with a link to your website!!  At the event itself you have an opportunity to personally react and make an impression on potential customers on a one to one basis.  Call the Chamber anytime between now and February 2009 to be a sponsor for next year’s premier Coastside event!! 650-726-8380
